Renuvion

FOR BODY CONTOURING
Renuvion is the only product that is FDA Cleared to improve the appearance of loose skin on the neck and chin, and the only device that is FDA Cleared for contracting subcutaneous soft tissue where needed.
One of the most important advances for cosmetic procedures in the last 20 years, Renuvion™ cosmetic technology is Reshaping What’s Possible™ for your practice and your patients.
Renuvion is a minimally-invasive procedure that uses helium plasma and RF energy to tighten the skin in multiple areas of the body for an over-all younger-looking and more contoured appearance.
FDA clearances for the use of Renuvion to improve the appearance of loose skin on the neck and chin and to contract soft tissue where needed highlights both the safety and efficacy of Renuvion technology and reinforces Apyx Medical’s focus on evidence-based medicine.
Dual Thermal Effect™
Unique heating

Renuvion uses both cold helium plasma and RF energy to heat tissue. A small amount of helium gas is energized into a plasma, which contours to the application area and evenly delivers the energy. The proprietary RF waveform flows through this conductive plasma to create additional beneficial heating of target tissue.
As the tip of the Renuvion device is drawn across an application area, the energy is applied uniformly along the overlying dermis, septa and muscle fascia. This allows for a full coagulative treatment, customized in real time to the unique contours of the subcuticular space.
Unique cooling

With Renuvion, less than 0.1% of the helium gas is converted into plasma, so more than 99.9% of the helium remains in its gaseous state. Helium is 8x more thermally conductive than air, so the unconverted gas flows across the tissue, drawing away excess heat like a subdermal air conditioner, minimizing any unintended thermal effect.
The high temperature employed cools so quickly that the external skin measurement increases by less than 4°C. With Renuvion, the heating and cooling back to baseline occurs in less than 0.75 seconds.
Gamechanging Technology. Practice-Transforming Potential.
Combining the unique properties of helium plasma with the efficiency of RF energy to create a dual thermal effect, Renuvion provides a dramatic yet gentle effect on tissue, giving you unparalleled precision and control in minimally-invasive procedures.
Renuvion is FDA cleared for cutting, coagulation and ablation of soft tissue during open and laparoscopic surgical procedures.1
Devlivers proven results

Dual thermal effect™: Renuvion uses a gentle waveform to convert helium, an inert gas, into a cold atmosphericplasma. Helium is used because itcan be converted to a plasma with very little energy. The result is energy that’s unique in its ability to provide tissue heating and cooling almost simultaneously.

Demonstrated efficacy: J-Plasma energy has been shown to be safe and effective in numerous surgical procedures where precise delivery of energy coupled with minimal thermal spread to adjacent tissue is beneficial. In cosmetic procedures, this allows for controlled coagulation of tissue.

Surgical impact with minimallyinvasive procedures: Offering a long-awaited alternative to more invasive procedures, Renuvion provides dramatic results with lower risks and recovery time than more invasive surgery.
Improves operational efficiency
The Renuvion system integrates seamlessly into your practice. It’s simple to set up and use, and requires no special certification or training, so you can focus on the patient and the procedure. The coagulation effect is not reliant on full-thickness heating of tissue, allowing for a more time-efficient procedure. And the system is simple and straightforward, with no hidden costs for equipment or maintenance.
Unmatched versatility
Renuvion cosmetic technology offers tremendous flexibility for your practice. In addition to the proprietary helium plasma energy, the system generator offers standard monopolar and bipolar capabilities.
The new J-Plasma® handpieces with Cool-CoagTM technology deliver the precision of helium plasma energy, the power of traditional monopolar coagulation and the efficiency of plasma beam coagulation – enabling thin-layer ablation and dissection and fast coagulation with a single instrument, minimizing instrument exchange and allowing you to maintain focus on your patient and your procedure.

A legacy of transforming surgery
From the first clinical use of an electrosurgical device at Harvard-Brigham in 1926 by Drs. William Bovie and Harvey Cushing, Bovie Medical has represented a paradigm of innovation in healthcare.
Nearly a century later, we continue to enable new and life-changing treatments, through scientific research and clinical development of energy devices that offer unprecedented precision, performance and versatility.
On par with the gamechanging innovation that has made Bovie the first name in electrosurgery, Renuvion cosmetic technology is redefining what’s possible in your practice.

Risk associated with the use of the Renuvion system for subdermal coagulation may include: Helium embolism into the surgical site due to inadvertent introduction into the venous or arterial blood supply system, unintended burns (deep or superficial), pneumothorax, temporary or permanent nerve injury, ischemia, fibrosis, infection, pain, discomfort, gas buildup resulting in temporary and transient crepitus or pain, bleeding, hematoma, seroma, subcutaneous induration, pigmentation changes, increased healing time, unsatisfactory scarring, asymmetry and/or unacceptable cosmetic result. There may be additional risks associated with the use of other devices along with Renuvion and there may be an increased risk for patients who have undergone prior surgical or aesthetic procedures in the treatment area. As with any procedure, individual results may vary. As with all energy devices there are inherent risks associated with its use, refer to the IFU for further information.
